Noopept is the brand name for N-phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester, a synthetic Nootropic molecule. Noopept is a peptide first promoted and prescribed in Russia and its neighboring countries. It is sold as dietary supplement in US and many countries.
Noopept is often compared to Piracetam, one of Nootropics variety , in the sense that it acts as cognitive booster. Noopept has also been known to provide a mild psycho-stimulatory effect. The mechanism of action is almost similar in which Noopept, like Piracteam, stimulates Glutamate receptor that increase the production of neurotransmitter and increase oxygen level in brain. Noopept renders these receptors to be more sensitive to Glutamate so they can be activated more easily. Glutamatergic system is vital in memory formation, learning and many other cognitive processes that are associated with increased intelligence.

Increasing oxygen within the brain is the reason why a lot of users report a feeling of clarity even from the first time they’re taking this Nootropics. Noopept also enhances glucose metabolism which is the main power source for the brain. When our brain has more power, it also gains benefit by having more energy, mental clarity, focus and improvement in concentration.
Noopept seems to stimulate an anxiolytic (anti anxiety) response in animal and human models. This is not a guaranteed result and seems to vary widely between subjects. Similar to Aniracetam, Noopept seems to stimulate Dopamine receptor sites (D2 and D3) as well as the ACh nicotinic receptor sites. It also seems to stimulate certain Serotonin receptors and this also lead to mood boosting qualities.
Noopept is being researched as a possible treatment for Alzheimer’s. Some believe that it may work beyond the areas of increasing cognitive function and memory. In lab rats NGF (nerve-growth factor) was increased after administration. This shows potential promise in repairing damaged brain cells and receptor sites that are present in Alzheimer’s patients. There is no proof yet this may work in human models and is still on research in the pharmacological industry.

"It certainly helps with focus and mental clarity and keeps me level which is very useful. Noopept is not supposed to have any type of withdrawals or negative side effects. You can go on and come off whenever you feel without any risk of dependence or side effects. It all sounds too good to be true."

"Students are desperate for these drugs because the workload is so brutal. I’ve had some really good exam results on this NOOPEPT."

"I began to notice an increase in my ability to 'recall' past things/events. For example, some times to have to think a little bit about what you may have ate the day before. Well, while taking Noopept I was about to recall and remember stuff like this with no problem at all."
